Remote access

The library's Remote Authentication Service solves the problem of accessing subscriptions to e-journals, e-books, databases etc. from off-campus locations. Thus from now on, you may also access the library's electronic resources from home or from abroad.

The system is fully intergrated in our website and library catalogue (Auboline). Thus, if you are off campus and follow a link to a database or e-journal from our website, you will automatically be redirected to the Remote Authentication Service. Once you have signed in (username and password), you will be directed to the resources.

The login page looks like this:

If you would like to see how it works, please click here for a quick demonstration.

All employees and students at Aalborg University can acquire a username and password.

Notice that the username differs from the one you use for borrowing books.

How do employees acquire a username?

University employees must now use their username and password from the univerity's single sign-on system to access the library's remote authentication system.

If you would like to set up a single sign-on username, you must "sign-on" at https://signon.portal.aau.dk. When you set up a username you must use your staff ID which you can find via the university's phonebook. For example:

If you do not have a staff ID, it may be due to some sort of temporary employment agreement. In this case, you may acquire a username from Kasper Løvshall (If you are not registred as user of the Remote Authentication System, you may acquire a username from Kasper Løvschall (kl@aub.aau.dk). Please include the barcode number from your borrower's card along with your date of birth in the e-mail.

If you are not yet registred as user at Aalborg University Library, you must obtain a library card at the library or online.

How do students acquire a username?

Students acquire and administer their username via the University's ITstart system at:http://itstart.aau.dk

Thus, all inquiries regarding username and password must be directed to the STADS support at phone 9940 9720 or via e-mail at stadssupport@adm.aau.dk.

If you need further information regarding user registration in the University's IT systems, please go to: http://www.aau.dk/user/
